A coastline guided by light

The Pays d'Iroise is a land of lighthouses. They dot the coastline, watch over sailors, and shape the landscape. From La Grange Neuve, several iconic lighthouses can be easily discovered, on foot or in just a few minutes by car.

To explore the coastline in a different way, you can also walk along the sea or follow the walks around Plougonvelin.

Saint-Mathieu Lighthouse

Perched on the edge of the cliff, facing the open sea, the Saint-Mathieu lighthouse is one of the symbols of the Pays d'Iroise. It is open to visitors, and its summit offers a breathtaking view of the coastline, the islands, and the ever-changing light. At its base, the ruins of the abbey add a unique historical dimension.

Kermorvan Lighthouse

Located at the tip of the peninsula of the same name, the Kermorvan lighthouse is one of the most beautiful viewpoints on the coastline.

It is accessed via a coastal path that runs along the sea, between rocks, heathland, and small coves. The path gradually reveals the headland, then the lighthouse, perched facing the horizon. A simple, open place, where the light changes with every step.

👉 A very nice outing idea from the cottages.

Corsen Lighthouse

The Corsen lighthouse marks the border between the English Channel and the Atlantic Ocean.

Located on the point of the same name, it overlooks one of the most exposed maritime areas of the coastline. There, one discovers an open, windswept landscape with an unobstructed view of the sea and the changing light.

The site is easily accessible by car, and the walk around the point offers very beautiful views of the coast.

Petit Minou Lighthouse

Recognizable by its stone bridge, the Petit Minou lighthouse marks the entrance to Brest harbor. The site offers a spectacular panorama, especially at sunrise or sunset.

It is accessed via a path that descends towards the sea, with an unobstructed view of the rocks and waves.

A coastline shaped by lighthouses

These lighthouses tell the maritime history of the Pays d'Iroise. They can be easily visited from La Grange Neuve, often combining a walk, a viewpoint or a moment by the water.
